Become migraine Free: Find Your Triggers

Most migraineurs have some triggers that initiate a migraine. It is imperative for migraineurs to find their triggers in order to minimize the frequency of migraines. Keeping a migraine diary is the key to a successful trigger elimination program. Migraineurs are easily disturbed, and they are very sensitive to light, noise, temperature changes, and weather/barometric pressure changes.

Top reported migraine triggers are:

Changes in sleeping patterns.
Chocolate.
Whether changes: hot, sunny, high pressure or cold, cloudy, foggy with drizzle.
Coffee.
Sun glare: use tinted sunglasses to avoid this trigger.
Red wine.
Aged cheese.

  • Tyramine: It is an amino acid that results when food ages. Examples include Tofu, aged cheese, soy sauce, sauerkraut, aged cheese, salami, pickles, olives, nuts, and generally any aged food.
  •
